40th Anniversary Edition Ninjas and Other New 2024 Kawasaki Models
Kawasaki revealed new special edition models celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Ninja along with a few other models at Japan Mobility Show 2023 (formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show).
The First Ninja
Back in 1984, Kawasaki introduced its first Ninja, the GPZ900R. Powered by a 908cc DOHC 16-valve Inline-Four mounted to a steel diamond frame, the Kawasaki GPZ900R kicked off a tradition of high performance sportbikes that continues on with the Ninja models of today.

The 40th Anniversary Edition livery is a green, white and blue color scheme styled after the Ninja ZX-7 that captured several AMA Superbike and Endurance World Championships in the 1990s.
2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R 40th Anniversary Edition
The ZX-14R is no longer offered in many other markets, but it remains part of Kawasaki's North American lineup. As of this writing, the 40th Anniversary Edition livery is the only color option confirmed for the 2024 Ninja ZX-14R.

From the biggest Ninja to the smallest, the Ninja ZX-4RR also receives the anniversary treatment, though the livery gets a slight adjustment with a thinner white stripe and larger blue area at the bottom to match the 1990 ZXR400R.
2024 Kawasaki Megura S1
The Ninja isn't the only brand celebrating an anniversary. 2024 will mark the 100th anniversary of Meguro, a Japanese brand that later merged with Kawasaki. In recent years, Kawasaki has produced a line of retro-styled Meguro models. At the Mobility Show, it introduced the Meguro S1, a 250cc-class Single.
1964 Kawasaki 250 Meguro SG
The S1 is styled after the Kawasaki 250 Meguro SG, which was released in 1964 after the brand was absorbed by Kawasaki.
2024 Kawasaki W230
Along with the Meguro models, Kawasaki continues to produce a line of retro-styled W models. For 2024, Kawasaki is adding the W230, which features an air-cooled SOHC Single.
2024 Kawasaki KLX230
While the W230 and Meguro models are unlikely to be brought to the U.S., we will likely see Kawasaki bring over the new KLX230 dual-sport, which debuted at Japan Mobility Show 2023. More details will likely come at EICMA, but Kawasaki tells us the new KLX230 offers improved off-road performance and comfort compared to the 2023 model, along with switchable ABS and smartphone connectivity.
